Our last batch outing was scheduled on a Tuesday, April 5th. My friends and I were really excited about it because there were a lot of activities in store for us and it was going to be with the whole batch!
Three buses were rented for our use and the first three sections of the batch were allowed to board any of the two. My friends and I opted for the third bus and it was indeed a good choice. The facilitators of the bus were Bien, Myong and Lui. These guys made our trip extra fun!
They practically ran out of jokes to tell due to their extremely demanding passengers!
We spent approximately 4 hours for travel with an hour for break. We still needed another 20 minutes for a bangka ride going to the resort.
I expected to see a more scenic view the mountains during the bangka ride unfortunately that side of batangas doesn’t offer it. I just had to content my self with the view of the sea and the smell of salt water splashing on my face.
Soon enough we were already getting ready for our snorkeling activity. I brought my own gear because I just didn’t like the idea of using stuff that other people already used, especially something that you put in your mouth!
We were actually allowed to separate with the group but we had to stick with our buddy. Camille and I took so many pictures of the fishes and the corals and of course, ourselves! Bien was nice enough to go a little deeper to take an underwater shot. The swimming part was so much fun even if not all the fishes were out that day.
Next on our itinerary was the trekking trip. We rode the bangka to head for the next resort that took us only 10 minutes. Bien and Myong came with us to lead the group. The paths were a bit dry causing it to be a little slippery. They just lead us to an easy track and I was actually a bit disappointed when I discovered that we weren’t going to go any higher. Sheesh! We didn’t even reach the summit and there was nothing to see in that spot. Well, they lead us there to talk to us about nature which turned out to be an insufficient talk because there was still room for some explanations.
The walk going back was the funniest part of the trek. Donna, Tats and I were able to bond with Bien and we just couldn’t contain ourselves from laughing boisterously. Soon enough the other facilitators came to join us and we were shortly with the company of Lui and Clint. We really had a great time bonding with them and we learned so much even for just a short time.
Back to the resort, we were allowed to swim for another 30 minutes. Camille and I begged off since we were already in need of a nice cold shower.
In a little while we were off to our buses to finally head home. It wasn’t the best destination this summer but the people who came made it extra special and extra memorable.
I’m glad I didn’t miss it…
